Metro Praiz is one of the choirs at the Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 6307 Riggs Road, Hyattsville Maryland, USA under the leadership of Pastor Michael Bernard and Associate Pastor David Defoe. The church is composed of many different West Indian heritages and cultures. While the music of Metro Praiz incorporates their heritage, they have transcended all cultural boundaries in their earnest search for the voice of God in music. New Music Director Ralph Jean-Pierre along with Metro Praiz provide a contemporary musical alternative within the predominantly traditional environment at Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church, and they incorporate style, professionalism and pizzaz within a deeply spiritual framework to create a consistently moving worship experience. Metro Praiz serves on the second Sabbath of each month at the 11 am service, which is the monthly Youth Church service and other churches services,concerts and special programs.
Metro Praiz has performed with RefleXions, Sanctified, Paul Heflin, Just One Blood, Benton and Subrina Callwood, Opal Staples and many more artists in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Metro Praiz has been featured at benefit concerts for DC area sniper victims Conrad Johnson and Prem Walekar and Fox 5 news Food Drives. They have also donated funds to the U.S. Postal Workers affected by anthrax in Washington DC. Metro Praiz donated funds from the 2004 Anniversary concert to the Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church Activity Center Project. Metro Praiz collected items for US Hurricane victims including clothing, food and toys at the 7th Anniversary Concert. Metro Praiz also performed at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Metropolitan Seventh-day Adventist Church Activity Center.
